Work along leather edges by hand with a flat wooden burnishing paddle and graduated grooves.

Materials and Specifications

One plain natural wood paddle with four transverse grooves near the squared end, a smooth flat body and a gently tapered rounded end. Approximate size is 5.79 × 0.94 × 0.59 in (14.7 × 2.4 × 1.5 cm). Selected light wood species is not specified. Groove widths and finish results depend on the leather and are not guaranteed. Natural grain and shade vary.

Use and Care

Test on an offcut and choose a groove suited to the edge thickness. Rub with light, controlled hand pressure along a supported edge. Wipe with a dry cloth after use and avoid soaking, excessive force and direct heat. For adult handcraft use.
